Jane Austen References

Jane Austen was born at Steventon Rectory on 16th December 1775, and lived at Steventon untill her removal to Bath in 1801.

Her father George Austen was rector of Steventon from  1761 until his death in 1805 ,and was succeeded in this post by his eldest son and Jane’s brother, James Austen.

The rectory was demolished in 1824.
